DFS replication - intra-site load sharing question
I have 2 questions if someone could help please,

will DFS hand out referals for both server in a load balancing way?

Volume snapshots disappearing?
I have deployed two identical servers (Storage Server 2003 R2 SP2 x64 - Dell

I have also configured Volume shadow copies on the D: volume of each server

When using DFS windows explorer shows owner sids instead of friendly names
All 2003 R2 DC's, when using DFS namespaces when the option to show the
owner column is used in windows explorer the sids show instead of the
friendly user names.
If I go in via a standard unc \\server\share the friendly name resolves
fine or if on the server, only appears to happen via dfs namespaces.
Any ideas ?...

How do I tell if Pre-Staging is working during initial replication
I am pre-staging a new DFS target (DFS-T2) before adding it to the
replication. I do this by copying the files from the already existing
DFS target (DFS-T1) using 'xcoyp /o' (in order to speed up initial
replication, and save on network bandwidth)
Once replication is enabled for DFS-T2, everything in the folder is
moved to the 'NtFrs_PreExisting___See_EventLog' folder, and then slowly

folders out of sync (existing files in the left hand folders) then
once I turn the sync on the webserver should have all the new insert/
update/deletes that occur at each of the outer 4 servers.
Sync Toy does what I want except for them starting out of sync.

I'm confused
I'm not sure what to do here. I've got three servers hosting my DFS
namespaces. They all have the same data (hopefully) and we use them for high
availability and data backup purposes.
Should I define the DFS namespaces and replication on all three servers,
using the DFS Management snap-in, or can I just define them on one server?
