Deploy Compat. Pack 2007 with SP1
Hi,
I've been trying to figure out how I can deploy the Microsoft Office
Compatibility Pack for Office 2007 and include the SP1 update.
With my testing I can deploy the actual compatibility pack no problems as
it's a straight forward MSI, it's deploying SP1 which I can't do?
When SP1 is extracted, it's in an MSP file.
I've found article advising this:
use the following to push the...

Domain Controller Permissions
We are currently running in Server 2003 native mode in AD and the network
group has already purchased a Nitro Security appliance for network intrusion
prevention. They are now requesting an AD account that can pull WMI
information from the Domain Controllers. Nitro support says they thought
there was a way to make this happen but simply tell their customers to
create a domain admin acc...

New domain setup
I need to setup a new child domain for our company. The domain will be
setup in one of our existing offices and then shipped out to our new office

anything I need to be concerned with when I set this domain up as a new
domain BUT creating it in our existing domain?
Some potential issues that come to mind:

Active Directory (x32 bit) with Exchange 2007 (x64 bit)
We do not see the Exchange tabs in the users settings on Active Directory.
We believe we need to install the Exchange tools from the Exchange CD.
However, it will not allow us, because the AD box is only 32 bit.
We are able to add a user in the AD box (server 2003, x32) and it does
populate in the Exchange server box (server 2008, exchange 2007, x64).
However, we are not able to lo...

Verifying a user is a domain admin (with a renamed Domain Admin group)
Hi -
I have some Java code that runs as part of an app installer. During the
install, it asks for a sAMAccountName, does an ldap binding to AD, locates
that user object, and verifies the user is a domain admin by checking if
they are a member of the CN=Domain Admins, CN=Users, ... group.
Some customer sites have renamed their Domain Admins group as part of MS
Best Practices for AD. ...
