alternative firewall to winxp-firewall and zonealarm?
After a second waste of time caused by free Zonealarm (in spring no internet
connection after zonealarm update, now blue screen of death caused by
vsdatant.sys of zonealarm) I would like to find another free firewall, not the
xp-windows-firewall. I was well familiar with the configuration of Zonealarm, so
is there anything harmless to my computer out there for windows xp?

Why network interoperability gets folders stuck on Windows?
I use network folders, remote connections, and vpn-connections. Everything
works usually fine, but then a catastrophic slowness attacks my machine. The
slowness comes from the issues in networking, because all the components
involved don't know what the other components are doing.
For example if my network goes down, Windows is still trying to connect even
if it can't. Lets say I turn v...
