Vista 64 Bit Memory Limit for Media Center
Running Vista Ultimate 64 Bit, Tv function in media center working fine until
I update my Ram to 6GB's. now it says the my tv signal is too weak and its
just a blue screen. Have updated all drivers but Haugpauge support tells me
that media center has problems if you have over 3GB's of ram.
Anybody had the same issues, the only reason for the 64 bit headaches is to
add more than 4gb's o...

Can I manually change TV Guides
Hi,
The TV Guides have most of channels mixed up.
Therefore I can't program Media Center to record programs that I want
because the guide is point to other channel frequency.
I've the Vista Ultimate.
I think that the TV Guide is obviously a file that is download from
Microsoft (or somewhere else), probably in xml format.
If this is true, it's stored in my disc and a chan access to i...

Get Medicenter to not wake up in the middle of the night...
Hi!
I have a HTPC w Vista Home Premium. it wakes up in the middle of the night
to DL updates and or schedules for the guide. I have used a little utility to
change the time for the DL and the time for installs of patches. So hopefully
it will not start at night now. BUT the reason this bothers me is that it
doesn't shut down again after it's finished?!!? if it just shut down after DL
up...

Update - KB932818
Has anyone else had problems with this?
I've been happily using Windows Media Center for Vista with absolutely NO
problems. After installing the update, pure chaos. Errors galore, tuners
not recognized, failures to start recording ... on and on. After
uninstalling the update, all problems have been resolved.
NOW - I can't get rid of the stupid reminder in the taksbar saying updates...

Tales of CableCard Woe - Sony VGX-XL3 Edition
I bought the Sony VGX-XL3 about a month ago, and for the most part I am happy
with it. The one exception is the flakiness of the CableCard anytime I have
to reboot (and this is Windows afterall!).
If you do a standard restart (like after installing an update) 1 of 2 things
generally happens. 1 is that the OS doesn't see the ATI tuner at all. Don't
need to say much more about that one...

Restricted Content??
I have Vista Premium, while trying to use the Media Center to watch TV
(Hauppauge DVR150) some of the channells start to play, then I get a
Restricted Content message. These channels play just fine on my TV.
I assume its a DRM setting, how can I go about fixing it so I can watch all
the channels available to me?
System Info:

Can I disable timeshifting
I would like to be able to disable timeshifting in Media Center but I cannot
find any options for this. Does anyone know how this can be done? It is
because my hard drive is very noisy and it is distracting me when I am
watching tv with the volume turned low at night time.

Any Luck With CableCard and Premium Content (eg HBO)
I have the new Sony VGX-XL3 with the ATI OCUR card. Initially, all was fine
and I could access all cable content. 24 hours later, I can no longer access
HBO. Error Message simply says "Restart your PC, if error persists contact
your cable company" (ok, this is the short paraphrased version). Called
cable company and reset card remotely several times (also made sure host,
card... were...

Media Center and Zune
Okay,
I seem to have resolved my digital tuner issues. Now a new one. If I am
listening to music using the Zune software when a scheduled recording tries
to start, the tuner bombs out and says no signal is available. I have been
able to recreate the error manually by leaving the Zune player playing and
then opening media center and tuning to a live tv channel. Picture pops up

Digital Cable Signal Strength
Okay, got over the issues with the CableCard not seeing premium channels.
Not another question. Cable reception is very jittery and I am trying to
isolate a hardware issue vs poor signal from Comcast. Does anyone know what
a "good" cable signal level would be?
When I look in the ATI tuner diagnostics, it shows the following:
Signal Level: -30 dBmV
Anyone know if that is good, b...

DVB-C / DVB-T support with CI module
Hi
Been a beta tester for MCE/ Vista and had and still have a lot of questions
about when we will see support for
DVB-C and DVB-T with CI support in Vista MCE.
I got Both of these cards installed from Digital-everywhere(
www.digital-everywhere.com ) which are the best selling cards here in Sweden
regarding DVB-C reciveings( they support both 64QAM and 256QAM ), they are

Media Center burn to DVD verrrryyy slow, then fails
Hi, I posted this question in another forum but since it applies to Media
Center, perhaps this is the better place to ask it:
I recorded a TV program, 1 hr, in Media Center, OK worked great. Then when I
choose it inside Media center, it offers the option of burn to CD/DVD, so I
chose
to burn to a DVD. The message comes up, says it could take a few hours, and
to click ok to continue & wo...
