Vista Media Center dead!
I am on Windows Vista Ultimate. I had been using Hauppauge application.
Want to revert to Windows Media Center. Uninstalled all but the Hauppauge
driver for the USB TV appliance. Run Windows Media Center, go to set up.
If I try to run Tasks / Settings / TV / Guide, I immediately get a message
"Media Center has Stopped" with no event log messages. If I run Tasks /
Settings / TV / Set...

In Media Center. Error message "Disk full"
When I try to start 'Live TV' in Media Center I get a display message that
says the disk is full and I have to select a new disk in Settings. I have
tried this to no avail. My disks are not full. I only have a few recorded
shows and have plenty of free space. The setting I have in Media Center are
correct. That is not the problem.

Windows Media Center has stopped playing videos from library.
I've started having a problem with my video library on Vista (SP1)
Windows Media Center.
If I select a video to play from the video library, I get the
confirmation "bing"and then nothing happens. All other functions of
the Media Center work fine (TV/MP3/DVD) and I can use Media Center to
play the same videos by right clicking on them in Explorer and
selecting "Open With".

Disconnects after about a minute. MCE and XBOX 360
I have copied this message from another forum because it summed up the
problem I'm having perfectly.
This is driving me insane, Ive linked my Xbox 360 to my laptop and it
disconnects the laptop from the network after 90 seconds (and i mean to the
second!!!).

Tuner Not Available
I have a Dell Media Center computer with a dual tuner. When I put my computer
on standby, sometimes when it reboots I get an error message.
TUNER NOT AVAILABLE
The tuner is currently in use by another application or is not working.
Please close all other applications, restart Media Center, and then try again.
I usually need to reboot the computer to get the tuner to start working again...

My copy of windows (GENUINE) not passing validation
Recently had virus successfully cleaned by a PC repair shop and now Windows
XP Pro 2003, a genuine one, says can't update as validation process could
not be completed. Small blue star icon in bottom right tray refers me to
validation site which takes a month to read with hundreds of confusing
options. Is there a Quick fix or do I have to re-install windows and

invalid boot.ini file Booting from C:\windows\
I get the message (invalid boot.ini file Booting from C:\windows\) when
booting my PC. I do not have a Boot.ini tab in msconfig, and in My Compuer,
Properties, Advanced, Startup and Recovery, Settings, their is no Defult

Shut down instead of log off
Hi when I choose "log off" when on my profile, the computer shuts down
instead. Doesn't happen with the other profile on this pc, so must be a
profile issue, but I don't know how to resolve, can anyone help please?...

No audio or video in xbox media center
I have connected the media center, Vista Home Premium, to my XBOX without any
prblem. I can view pictures but cannot play audio or video. The Xbox
dashboard plays both audio and video with no problems. I am running on a
Linksys WRT54GS router and get the same results regardless of if the PC is
hardwired to the router or not. I converted the audio to WMA and stil have
the same problem....

IE7 closes when I close a tab
Every time a close a tab of IE7 the program closes.. "internet explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close"

Organizing my recorded TV
Hello all,
(Using MCE 2005)
Is there a way to create folders for recorded tv, that will show up in
recorded tv, so I can organize my shows?
For example, there are shows that only I will watch, there are shows that
only my wife will watch, and there are shows we both will watch. I want 2
folders, one for each of us. What I want to do is have everything recorded

I am still having a problem with my Media Center version 2002, 2004 and 2005

MCE Lock Up
I am running XP MCE 2005 w/rollup2 on a Dell Dimension. It came with an
anolog tuner pre-installed and I installed an Avermedia 180 tuner card and
system has worked resonably well for about a year. As I am using an antenna

XP cd will not boot? Trying to get rid of Vista
Here is the deal. I have a media center running Vista Premium box - however,
my system gets beaten by Vista so I have decided to revert to XP MCE - and I
am thinking "that's easy"... guess not... what I do is this:

Removed .NET Framework from XP Media Centre Edition
Whilst removing MSN Messenger from Add/Remove Programs (to upgrade MSN), I
also removed (!) .NET Framework from PC, now get an error message at
start-up, IE does'nt work properly (offline), and generally PC runs more
noticeably slowly - where/how can I re-load this? Research I've found say to

Unable to enter data in PHP order form
I am starting a small home business and I have asked a developer to create an
Order Form in PHP. My developer has been using both IE 6 and IE 7 to test

Keyboard shortcuts in new version of Media Center
I recently purchased a new PC with what appears to be a new version of Media
Center. It has additional options such as Ãnteractive'buttons (which the UK

How to setup tv signal using a channel other than 2, 3, or 4?
Hi,
Is it possible to setup a TV signal from a cable set top box (STB) with
Vista MC that is NOT channel 2, 3, or 4?
I have IP-TV where one STB transmitts to 3 TVs in my apartment. Each TV
operate on one specific and unchangeable channel (8, 10, and 39). I
would like to use MC to operate on channel 39, however in the TV signal
setup, the only options are 2, 3, and 4.

Simple,inexpensive way to view PC video on TV?
I have XP Pro with WMC 2004 (Rollup 2?) on my upstairs computer (P4,
3.2gh). I recently got a Samsung HDTV which is downstairs. I also have a
network with 3 wired and 1 wireless computer. In addition, there is a
