Problems w/Spam....Formatting msg rules ??? HELP PLZ
I'm trying to make a msg rule that sends all wrongly addressed
e-mails to a special folder or directly delete. I tried: *@earthlink.net.
It doesn't work. Suggestions please !...

Unable to Open O.E.
Hi:
For the past week, early morning or evening, about two or three times per
day,

Un read messages
On the news group "alt.autos.gm (43599)" I have only around 100 unread
messages but OE6 show 43599 messages. could I somehow fix this problem?

OE6 opens pdf in Acrobat 6 Pro, not Acrobat 9 Reader
I have both Acrobat 6.0 Pro and Acrobat 9 Reader on my computer. I have set
up file associations so that Pdf files always open in Acrobat 9 Reader by
default. However, the only place that this does not work is when opening
attachments within Outlook Express. OE insists on opening them in Acrobat
6.0 Pro, which takes MUCH longer. I have done an extensive online search

changing express in/outgoing servers
i have XP IE7 and recently changed providers (twice actually).
i have tried to no avail to change the incoming POP and outgoing SMTP (?)
on my outlook express.
every article and troubleshoot i have read directs me to
TOOLS > ACCOUNTS . . .
but when i click on TOOLS there is no ACCOUNTS . . .
just MESSAGE RULES followed by OPTIONS (and there is nothing in OPTIONS that
will help.

Restoring in box
A Microsoft Outlook Express technician helped me save my in box in Outlook
Express before doing a clean format of my hard drive. I have the file on my
backup memory stick. How do I restore the in box to my Outlook Express in

Help! Need to reduce size of .bak file (2GB+!).
My inbox crashed. After reading several threads, I compacted all files, and
the inbox went to the Recycling Bin. I found the problem was the size of my
inbox - 2+GB!. How/where can I restore it so that I can edit the file,
splitting up what I need into smaller files and deleting the rest?
I presume I can't open it without OE? How can I do that without crashing OE
all over again?

compacted email, now i have lost folders and email????
i have no bak files in my stored folder and recycle bin is set to delete

Mailbox limit query
I use OE6 on Virginmedia. Have just received a mail from "Mail Delivery
Service" saying my mailbox is 90% full and I should delete some emails.
If this is likely to be a genuine message, does it refer to mail already
downloaded and held in various folders on my hard disk, or is it mail still
on the server and not downloaded, which is unlikely as I have requested mail
only be held for ...

OE Send/Receive popup window
Is there a way to completely hide the window? I have a client who
while writing an email, the box pops up, disappears, then the screen
goes to the inbox. While not normally a problem, he's been
complaining that when he's writing an email while starting at the
keyboard, it'll happen and won't notice. He'll think he's finished

OE6 is Fickle
I have XP and OE6. When I first start the computer OE6 opens my email
perfectly. If I log off and log on as another user it won't open. If I
restart the computer it works ONCE and that is it! No matter which profile I
use, it opens the mail once and then gives me an error message of, The
connection to the server has failed. Account.....

OE5 - Can't delete messages
Never had this problem before, but since re-installing Win2000, now I can't
delete postings in any newsgroups. The delete key has no effect at all --
but works with email and all other programs.
Anyone take a stab at how to fix this?
