December Updates
Since a mid December update, my Outlook Express freezes while downloading
email, sometimes on the first email, sometimes on the second one. I have
been constanlty restoring my computer to Nov. 30, but then I don't have the
updates. Today I finally turned auto updates off. Does anybody know how to
fix this?...

Inbox not responding........heeeeeelp
Hi
I have Outlook Express 6 and have windows xp. Everything was OK and running
fine until a few hours ago. I tried to access my email in my Inbox and
outlook freezes up and I get a message up the top left hand side saying
"Outlook Express is not responding". My email downloads from the server but I
just cannot read it in my Inbox. All my other folders containing email
received from yest...

I cannot receive messages from my outlook express. They are backing up!!
Actually, I do receive messages #1 and #2 and halfway thorugh message #3 it
appears to get stuck and then the error message comes on that "Your Server
has unecpectedly terminated the connection"............(so forth) "Yes,
Error Number"

The reason I posted this yesterday was that I was hoping by some miracle it
would make it to the group and I would be able to view it and the replies. I
am sorry that I am not as intellegent and computer smart as you are.

Folders empty
I just discovered a problem similar to one by Joseph Malet in another thread
here but did not want to interrupt his thread.
In my case I went to open some seldom used store folders and find that
approximately one third of my 20 folders are EMPTY, others OK going back
years. I am using XP Pro SP3 and OE6 version ending in 5512 and use in and
out box only for immediate viewing then move to...

Copying old.dbx file into new machine
Hi,
After browsing and trying various solutions available in the forum,
I have still not been able to open my dbx file that I saved from my
old machine running on windows 98.
The method that should have worked was copying the dbx file into a new
folder on my new machine running on XP, then importing the messages
from my desktop folder via OE 6. However, I get an error when I try to

Microsoft wrote me and show me different places to go for help, and also said
they are getting tired of windows. On their help and support site they talk
about POP3 server.

Problems Recieving & Sending Mail in Outlook Express w/XP
We've been having some email problems for the past 5 days with sending and
receiving emails in OE on my XP PC, and with Windows Mail on my wife's Vista
PC. Our provider is Comcast, and while we were able to view and send emails
via their WebMail app, we couldn't see or send emails via Mail or OE.

automatic change in incoming server
I have Time Warner Roadrunner internet service and use a Bellsouth e-mail
address, which I access through Outlook Express. Every time I reboot, the
Incoming server is changed from the one for Bellsouth to a bunch of numbers.
Is this being done by Roadrunner? How do I prevent this change?

How do I return the inbox messages which were sent from comcast to
I recently had trouble sending messages thru outlook express. Now whenever I
check outlook express to see if the messages I'm sending are going thru, all
