system restore turns off when i reboot
I tried to use system restore and found it was turned off. I turned it on
and found when i next rebooted it had turned off again, I have updated virus
definitions and ran a full virus scan system is clear can anyone help....

Win32 install error "for a machine type other than current machine
Installing NetPhone PBX client 2.4.1, a Win32 application in XP Pro X64 I get
this error on launching Setup.exe ...
"The image file <C:\blah blah blah\setup.exe is valid, but is for a machine
type other than the current machine."
Setting the app compatibility mode didn't help ...
This is not good news ... Our robust CTI PBX, though the company is long
defunct, is far from finuto ...

XP activation
I have installed window xp media center edition by using key from my
freind which need to be activated. I did at that time using some
crack. It worked fine for 2-3 months. but now all of a

Windows Prefetch Folder is Missing
Hi,
I had a problem earlier with my computer and I resolved it by repairing
Windows. I just looked for the Prefetch folder in Windows and it's not
there. My Windows folder is filling up with files such as setupact,
temp.000, Twunk_32.dll, NLSDownlevelMapping, wmsetup, winhlp32,
UNNeroBurnRights.cfg and KB893756. I don't know if these types of files
should have gone into the Prefetc...

Device Manager, System Services and Disk Mgmt are Empty!
Hi,
I have Windows XP Pro X64, SATA.
I went into Safe Mode to run some anti-virus programs. No problems were
found so nothing was deleted. When I returned to normal mode, my computer
was completely changed. I received this message two times when I rebooted:
"OneTouch: Can't enumerate devices." and then "Disk Management: Invalid value

XP pro x64 system crashing -- PLEASE HELP!!! UPDATE
Sorry for reposting, but my joy was short-lived. This morning, while I was
working, my PC crashed again... FFW to this evening, and now 2AM...
I have read and done everything suggested, but my problem did not go away.

IE7(32bit) and WinXP x64 web surfing
While I'm at it I'd also like to ask. Why does my IE 7 on x64 machine hang
on certain web pages and leave me staring at a blank page website?
Sometimes I refresh and the page comes up. Other times I refresh and

Getting Blue Screen
I have an HP dv9260us laptop. It came with Vista Ultimate x64 and has a
Centrino Duo 2.0 processor. In the past two days I have received two blue
screens where my computer automatically rebooted after dumped the memory to
disk. The blue screen wasn't on long, but I did see the problem was with

Issue with increasing RAM
Recently I built a computer and purchased Windows Vista. I'm running the 64
bit version. To start with I had 1 GB of PC2 - 6400 RAM. My mother board
has 4 slots for RAM and is expandable up to 8GB of RAM. So I went ahead and
purchased 4GB (2 x 2GB) of the same type of RAM to upgrade my memory go 5GB.
However When I put in all 5GB of RAM windows will act like it's booting up
