win XP x64 Boot Failure and unable to enter Recovery Console
Today my computer booted up and was having trouble initialising NOD32
Totally inresponsive... So I resetted the computer but when he
restarted he gave me this error:

Thunker not working
Well I can't get Acrobat 8.1 to work on Vista64 (can't find resource files)
so I installed Scan Soft PDF Converter 4 and I'm getting the following
message "Thunker 32 to 64 bit APIs not responding".
Any advice on how to get my Thunker to start responding?
This is a factory installation of Vista64 on a new computer.

VRFYDSK.EXE for Windows Server x64
The VRFYDSK.EXE from the W2K3 Resource Kit Tools is, to my knowledge, not
supperted on x64.

auto recovery messed up
I was working with mini drive, saving as I went along. The computer froze and
I had to reboot. The file vanished from the USB mini drive. I went to my C
drive and found the file in auto recovery but when I opened it most was all
question marks with about 10% of the written text. Can I correct this
recovered file with all the question marks or recover a lost file on a mini

MDAC 2.8 SP2 for W2K3 R2 x64 SP2
How do I install MDAC 2.8 SP2 on a Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 that
has SP2 for Windows Server 2003 installed? There is no download for MDAC 2.8
SP2, it is not in add/remove programs and I cannot find it on the Windows
installation CD....

Duration for movie clips N/A in Windows Explorer
Attributes such as duration and dimensions are listed for the video clips
file type in Windows Explorer, but missing for the movie clips file type. Is
there any way to grant Windows Explorer access to this information for the
movie clips file type via some kind of configuration change?...

X64Pro becomes unstable w open office
I thought I would share this experience with you all since it took me
a while to discover the problem. I have been using Open Office for
months with no problem. Suddenly I could no longer open existing files
or create new ones. It would go into a file recovery mode, recover a

Telephony service failed to start
I have a XP 64 bit machine that is logging the following errors every
second. The Telephony service is set to manually and when I attempt
to start it I get "Error 1053: The service did no respond to the

major X64 boot problem
i recently transplanted my rig into a new Silverstone TJ09
case.... (heh its awesome), all went well except now every 4 out of 5
boots results in a weird boot problem, when it gets to the black X64
loading screen the hard drive will spin down and spin up, but basically

Vista 64 and Dual tuners
So I build my new pc and decided since 64 bit processing is the nest step I
would try it in Vista, mistake, hopefully not. So my problem is that I can
not get the hauppauge 500 mce tuner card to work with Vista even though it is

Failed automated updates
Those cumulative security updates for the IE7 has failed, it tries always
update it again and again when I turn computer on, and always it has been
failure, some strange code like "application error and that long number

Vista x64/GeForce 7900 GT Random Crash...
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium x64, an Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT and I
have an Asus A8N32-SLI motherboard. I have been having some major issues

I've a problem extracting installation files.
I would encounter an error message in various forms from the installation
program but all are related to unable to extract some files in the setup

Can anyone help me to figure out why my Windows XP Professional all of a

Start Menu Programs Always Highlighted
Hi there,
This only happens on occasions, but when I install a new program it is
highlighted as normal in the Start Menu. However once I have run the program
it usually stops being highlighted and recently this hasn't been the case.
How do I stop new programs being highlighted in the Start Menu?...

Volume control in toolbar
Because this is a ridiculous OS, I had to reinstall it. After that, however,
I lost basic volume control in my toobar. When I tried to add it, the program
wouldn't let me, instead giving me an error message that said "Volume control
has not been installed." MS people told me to ask someone else.
