ax96lli4.sys - Windows 2003 x64 Enterprise Edition R2
A few months ago we installed Windows 2003 x64 Enterprise Edition R2
evaluation. The evaluation will expire soon so we decided to upgrade to the
full version, however during the upgrade process we ran into a problem:
File ax96lli4.sys is missing. The installer also won't proceed without this
file, it can only abort.
The weird thing is that neither on google or microsoft.com there's any...

Best Way to get version from registry?
Trying to do some manipulation in PowerShell, and it's easy enough for me to
get what OS I'm on for most versions of Windows. But Server 2k3 and XP x64
both report build # 3790. How to tell which is which?
switch -regex (cmd /c ver) {
2600 {$ver="XP"}
3790 {$ver="Server 2003"}
6000 {$ver="Vista"}
6001 {$ver="Server 2008"}
}
Obviously, this doesn't help if what I actually...

Porting to win64, problems
Hi...
One of our guys is trying to port the tanuki java service wrapper to win64
so we can try it with the 64-bit jvm and he's running into a lot of quirks.
The latest one is that the wrapper calls GetModuleFileName(NULL, szPath,
512) early on in initialization and on the 64-bit os, this function returns
just "c" - not the whole path of the executing program. It doesn't like the

Lost disk space?
Hi folks,
I just had a strange experience, running Windows XP Pro x64..
I tried to delete a file from my hard disk, which was 800mb big. When
I deleted it, the file was gone, but I didn't get the space back.
I have updated the motherboard's SATA drivers and also run CHKDSK /F.
CHKDSK /F did fix some faults but I can still create files "for free"
or delete them and gain nothing. Also ...

Mouse hook slows down system
Hi,
Our product makes use of a system wide mouse hook (WH_MOUSE) and a message
hook( WH_GETMESSAGE) that are implemented in a DLL.
It works well on all 32 bit systems9 (W2K, XP) we are having some problems on
XP x64 version.
The moment the mouse hook is installed, the system slows down drastically.
The CPU usage remains normal ( 99% consumed by System Idle process).
I do not understa...

here make a guess (educated or not) if this will be usefull to me or to my
machine?
I intend to flash it anyway since there is enhanced memory support as well,
