Hello!
Early access: https://jdk6.dev.java.net/6uNea.html
[quote]
If you plan to use 32-bit and 64-bit browsers interchangably, you will
need to install both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of the Java Platform.

WMI invalid class error
I use the command 'wmic product' to list the installed software on either the
local or a remote computer. It works most of the time on x32 systems but when
I use it on XP x64 or server 2003 x64 systems I get an Invalid class error
0x80041010. Same story when using WMI in a script. Does anyone know what the
story is with x64 versions of Windows (Vista x64 works!). Another namespace

can't we install old apps on Vista64???
I have noticed that some older apps won't install on my new 64bit
system (ie: CorelDraw 12). Is it possible that some just won't install
on this new toy? Anything that can be done? I've already tried setting
compatibility to Windows XP (SP2), but it doesn't make a difference. I
get the message, "The version of this file is not compatible with the
version of Windows you're running". Any chance...

New Laptop/MS Office won't install??
I recently bought this laptop used...the folks I bought it from completely
zeroed it out. I also reformatted once to double check. I also had a gov't
buddy of mine make sure there was no hanky panky on this computer. Needless
to say, I have tried to locate my disk for my MS Office for Teacher and
Student without any luck. While I was looking I figured I would take
advantage of the fr...

Question on "My Pictures" screensaver
I'd like to find out if Windows XP supports the pictures in the "My Pictures
Slideshow" screen saver option, being shown in correct alpha-numeric order
according to pic file name, each time.
For the sake of continuity I'll say that the pictures in my "My Pictures"
folder are named Pic1, Pic 2, Pic3, etc. all the way up to Pic10 (this is not
necessarily saying I have ten pictures in the ...

linkinfo.dll on Windows 2008?
Hi All,
I am doing a 64bit release build (on a 32bit system...which I have
successfully done in the past so I know it works) of a COM dll (C++) using
VS2005 (see details below). I also build an installation program (msi).
When I run the msi on a Windows 2008 server and it goes to register the dll,
it fails. Using depends, I can see it is missing linkinfo.dll. When I
searched on thi...

I can no longer get updates
Hi,
My copy of Windows has been validated for 2 years. I haven't received an
update notification for the past week so I went to the update site. I
received a message that said 'Windows Update has encountered an error and
cannot display the requested page.' Is there a known reason for this and
what can I do to fix it?

Iexplorer 7 opens up to 85 clone copies viewable in the tasklist only
Hi
I have a peculiar problem. When I open internet explorer (version 7 -
32 bit) this program, sometimes, quickly becomes unstable and
impossible to work with. I realised that my tasklist was swarmed with
iexplorer tasks, and I could barely shut these tasks down before new
ones appeared. I have no apparent virus, but I have run cc cleaner to
clean up a.o. the Registry files.
My PC is a...

CreateProcess - failling to launch app on Windows 2003 64-bit
Hi,
We have a 32 bit application that launches other 32 bit applications
during its process using CreateProcess. The application is working
fine on other 64 bit plateforms but on Windows server 2003 64 bit, we
get an error trying to launch the apps: error 193 (not a valid 32 bit
application). But we can manually launch these applications on that
system without any problem.
I though we h...

Install IIS without system disk
Is there any way to install IIS without the original disk? I have Windows XP
Pro 64 bit on my system, but I didn't install IIS since I saw no need for it.
Now I'm trying to learn SQL Server 2005, and using reporting services
requires IIS. Unfortunately, I can't find my 64-bit disk. Is there any way to
get it other than from the original disk? Thanks.

problems Dual Booting XP32 & XP64
This is actually the second time I'm trying to do this on a recently
acquired machine. Worked fine the first time, but now I'm having some
difficulties. The only hardware change I've made to the system in the
interim was to add a 1000G SATA drive in addition to the 2 320G SATA
drives that came with the system.
As before I installed the 32-bit version first, made sure it was fully
