Boots but won't go to desktop.......
Climberdave 12/28/2008 12:35:00 AM
I have a two year old Sony VAIO with XP Media Center and was getting ready to
use a USB Flash drive.......when I restarted the computer after inserting the
flashdrive (it asked to restart the computer for the flashdrive to work
properly) , it would boot but it wouldn't go all the way through to the
desktop screen. It went to the logon screen (which it never used to do) and
when I clicked on my name it would say "loading your settings" and then my
desktop screen would appear for a split second and then I would get the
"logging off, saving your settings message. Help please if you can. Can't
really afford to take it in. If you can help or direct me to somewhere I
could find the answer, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Dave

What happens if you try another USB port?

The problem isn't the Flashdrive or the USB Port. I've removed the
Flashdrive......I now can't get my computer to boot all the way to the
desktop. At all...............

Thanks

Dave
