I have a screen saver, the Legend of Zelda WindWaker, which I rather like.
When I try to install it, it tells me "This application cannot functin
without the latest version of the Macromedia Flash(tm) plug-in installed on
your system. AFAIK, I do indeed have this installed. Anyone have any
suggestions as to what it might be looking for?

Disclaimer - I've long since forgotten where this came from - it was on one
of my Zelda game or music CDs. Download at your own risk, don't run it
unless you really know what you are doing. I've installed it on a dozen
machines, it works fine in Win98, Win2000, and XP32. I'm running XP64.

My best guess is that it is looking for an older version of flash because it
is referring to it as "Macromedia Flash" and not "Adobe Flash".
Newest flash is 10.0.12.36 and this is the direct d/l link:

Not that I've heard of. Though I seem to vaguely recall some talk of a beta
version at some point, but it's not anything I pay attention to, frankly.
I'm _happy_ not to have flash on 64-bit. <g>

From what I read here

there exist both 32-bit and 64-bit screensavers for Vista x64.
Zootal's screen saver most likely is 32-bit and should use 32-bit flash,
same way as IE 32-bit does.
I am not at my Vista PC right now so I cannot confirm the existence of both
types of screen savers in Vista x64.

Unfortunately, more websites are using flash. I think it is the death
of the internet, or more correctly, the web, since the software is
proprietary. Most of the time the use of flash is just window
dressing, totally a waste of bandwidth. I've seen flash "buttons",
like it would ruin the website to click on an image file or better
yet, a stinkin' text link.

I couldn't agree more. But you know, there are very few of them that I
actually care about enough to shut down 64bit IE and open 32-bit IE for. I
just can't be bothered with most of those sites.
