How can I determine if an install version is 32bit or 64 bit?
Timmer 11/6/2008 1:49:01 AM
I am interested in purchasing an upgrade version of Vista Home Premium.
However, the person selling the product doesn't know if it will install the
32 bit or the 64 bit version and I need the 64 bit version. The product is
Home Premium Upgrade and the number is "x12 99362 02" without the quotes.
Does anyone know for certain what version this is or where I can go to find
out? I have found nothing definitive on the Internet.

Thanks

Tim

Any legitimate Vista install DVD will have the version (32-bit or 64-bit)
stamped on the DVD.

You have to buy an upgrade to 64bit, only ultimate has both 32 and 64bit DVD's -- mansrm81 If you think I helped you fix your problem give me some rep :D. Click on the scales. [image: http://www.vistax64.com/members/mansrm81-albums-asdf-picture192-untitled.jpg]

Additionally, it's not possible to upgrade from a 32bit Windows OS to
a 64bit Windows OS, so no 32bit-->64bit upgrade disks exist AFIK.

64bit Windows MUST be installed CLEAN.
