Not receiving past emails on Windows Mobile device
Beholder 12/29/2008 6:16:01 PM
This is a partial repost with some updated info - The thread i previously
posted seems to haev gone corrupt as it says "Community Message Not
Available" when i try to read it - weird!

I've got about 15 users in my office using a variety of WM5 and WM6 devices
all working fine. I just added a new user's WM6.1 Motorola Qh Global into
this mix and he has only been able to get emails for the current day and a
few days prior. In his outlook email box it is showing up as normal but on Q
will only show the last 3 days or so of emails.
I haven't done anything different with this user's mailbox or wireless
device then I do with my own or anyone else in the office - and can't figure
out what the problem is.
I've tried a few troubleshooting things to rule out a corrupt mailbox - I
even backed up - delete - and recreated the mailbox - just restoring 2
emails, one from today and one from last week. The Q will sync but only show
the 1 email from today.

Does anyone know what direction I might persue. I even went to AT&T and got
a new device as I assumed something was wrong with this one.

Any help is greatly apprecaited.

The updated info - I jsut got a report from another user - also on a Q9 but
using WM6.0 He has been using it for about a year w/o any touble but reported
this issue today. Most others are unaffected (even those with Qs). So i'm
thinking it has to be something on the SBS box, i just don't know what.

Sorry for the long post.

I suggest you use a newsreader rather than the web interface to the groups.

What is it set to do, on the device?

I've tried setting the device to 2 weeks, 1 month, and all and it still only
shows today and maybe yesterday's email.
If you login to OWA it does show all emails - not sure if that's related.

As far as the reader - what is the NTTP address for thsi newgroup so i can
load it into outlook express - i've been trying to find i but can't.

Thanks,
Andrew

I tried that, says server could no be found. Even tried using login info and
no dice. That's why i thought the NNTP was different because it's nto
working.
The only group i was able to add was the connectnews.microsoft.com one which
has an EBS group on it.
Any other suggestiosn as to what i'm doing wrong?

Not sure what to suggest as I'm not having any problems using OE to access

Hello Andrew,

Thanks for your post and others input.

Just a reminder, have you checked the ActiveSync Email Settings on the
Mobile device, as I know in Windows Mobile system, user can define how many
days he would like sync with the Exchange server. By default it is "Last 3
days", and you can set from 1 day to 1 month or ALL based on user demand.
Here is similar post:

Treo Email Sync - last 30 days?

If you have trouble finding the settings on your mobile, please refer to
the user manual or turn to the manufacture for more information.

Hope this helps.

HI,
I checked this on the new device and it was set to 3 days - i changed it to
1 month and had no effect.
The device that was working fine and now isn't is also set to 3 days but for
some reason only shows today's email. No changes were done on thsi device
which is why i feel it's a server issue.
Any other suggestions?
Thank you all for this help.
