Open Outlook Express and click on the Tools menu at the top of the window. Select Options from the menu. On the General page, uncheck "Send and receive messages at startup". Also uncheck "Check for new messages every". Keep in mind that you will have to manually run a Send and Receive to obtain your messages. Good luck Nepatsfan
