I have built a video source filter, which passes data to a third party transfer filter. My Video stream renders nicely for about 20 minutes, before it dies. I have noticed that the "mem usage", as observed in the Windows Task Manager process tab, grows linearly over time. The "mem usage goes + and - from moment to moment, but the overall pattern is that there is a net growth in memory usage over time. So, I probably have a memory leak. Additionally, if I minimize WMP, "mem usage" takes a sharp drop in value. If I now maximize WMP, I see the linearly growth happening again, but incrementing from the "dropped" value.
I would appreciate recommendations for tools that are available to localize memory leaks in WMP.
Thanks,
I am using WMP version 11.0.5721.5230 on XP pro.
