Autologin vs login screen
John Smithe <JS[ at ]huh.wha> 12/5/2008 4:25:43 AM
I have autologin turned and I have multiple users. When one of the other
users wants to login, how can they bring up the login during bootup.

Hello John, Since you have multiple users, it may be best and easier to turn off automatic log on. Otherwise, they could open the Start Menu, in the user account that is running, and click on the "Switch User" option from the arrow menu. Hope this helps, Shawn John Smithe;902866 Wrote: > I have autologin turned and I have multiple users. Hi,

They can't unless you disable the autologin. There's no break point where
they can hit a key to invoke the screen.

From http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324737

"To bypass the AutoAdminLogon process and to log on as a different user,
hold down the SHIFT key after you log off or after Windows restarts."

It isn't very specific about when to hold the SHIFT key during a
startup, but it seems to need to be held part way through the boot
process, about when the Windows "orb" is displayed. However, in my
experience it is somewhat hit-and-miss whether or not it works.
