You need to post a more complete and accurate copy of the Stop Error
report.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Keep pressing the F8
key during Start-Up and select option - Disable automatic restart on
system failure. Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure.
Check for variants of the Stop Error message.

What is your computer make and model?

What exactly do you have by way of a Windows XP CD?

Try booting with only keyboard, mouse and monitor connected.

Have you tried Last Known Good Configuration?

Adam

Please ignore my previous post. The report you are seeing is not a Stop
Error report.

In Google there are lots of reports regarding your message and seemingly
a number of causes. This is the most constructive post I found:

I had a look at a couple of those links
and though the question had been asked a number of times,
none of the links I looked at had a solution.

The reason I suspected the drive itself was simply because the OP still
had the problem even with a fresh installation.

What I'd do is first make sure the hardware is ok.

That would involve the manufacturer's harddrive diagnostic

and also a RAM test
