WME Crashing
Ray1974 12/3/2008 9:41:36 PM
I have had WME crash on me on 4 separate computers during live broadcasting.

All the machines are identical hardware...using ati tv wonder 650 pci cards
for capture. winxp with all service packs and updates. At first, we thought
the problem might have been with a file source we were switching to during
breaks, but this file was only involved in 3 of the 4 cases.

Each time, the gui will just simply disappear with no error messages.

I have tried to recreate the issue both on the machines it happend on and on
other identical machines. We have approximately 50 identical machines in
various geographical locations. This issue has not happend more than once on
any machine. The machines have all been in service for quite some time.
This problem has only begun to show up within the last 2 to 3 weeks.

Frankly, I am very baffled as to what could be happening.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this recently? Perhaps a recent
update could have caused the issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hm, since the error is quite cryptic, I would go with hardware, memory
in first place.
Then everything change everything else, temperature can be quite an
issue.

If you don't have spare machines, try mixing hardware between faulty
and stable. My advice, do it with maximum control - labeling of
components and proper log :)
