not receiving mail from one domain - not blocked
Lee Beck 12/29/2008 8:42:01 PM
I'm receiving mail from everyone except anyone at one domain
name[ at ]summitchurch.cc

The .cc domain is not common but it is what my church uses. We have several
staff members with different email adresses and none are getting through -
all are using my correct email address.

I've checked my rules and blocked senders list and neither the names or the
domain are listed.

What tests, pings, checks can I use?

Sorry for the double post. I got a message after sending this that said
"there was a problem - sorry - try again later." I did, and both posts were
posted.

A followup question - how do you delete or edit your own post after it is
posted??

Are those messages arriving in your webmail portal? Check the
spam folder there.

Yes. At least one message does appear in the webmail portal spam folder. I
used the only utility that I could find in the web version and checked "not
spam" and the email was moved automatically to my inbox.

I rechecked my filters and blocked mail lists and the sender and domain are
not listed in any. Is there some way that I can specify "accept all mail
from *.cc"?

If the messages are not appearing in your mail service's web mail Inbox,
then the problem is at the mail service and not in WLM. IF the mail
doesn't make it to the server Inbox, there's nothing that WLM can do
about it.

It may be an issue that your mail service considers the sender's domain
as invalid. If the sender's domain and servers are not properly set up
with reverse DNS lookup, that can cause problems.

Contact your mail service to have then see if they are rejecting the
messages.

Regarding the one message that was in your webmail spam folder,
there is nothing you can do in your Windows Mail to prevent that.
Your webmail settings may allow turning off its spam filter, or it may
allow suspected spam to be automatically downloaded by Windows Mail.

Messages that were neither downloaded nor placed in the webmail
spam folder were probably silently dropped by the mail server,
possibly because the sender's mail server is on a blacklist.
