New Laptop/MS Office won't install?? Gunner 11/21/2008 2:21:01 AM I recently bought this laptop used...the folks I bought it from completely zeroed it out. I also reformatted once to double check. I also had a gov't buddy of mine make sure there was no hanky panky on this computer. Needless to say, I have tried to locate my disk for my MS Office for Teacher and Student without any luck. While I was looking I figured I would take advantage of the free version temporarily. After I downloaded and started to extract, I received this error message: The specified program requires a newer version of windows. I have attempted to get the patch to allow the other OS's to work MS Office 2007, but it still won't work. What am I overlooking or how do I get it installed? Thanks ahead of time!!

If I understand this correctly you are trying to install an O/S, but it fails as it doesn't find any HD? Please tell us what CPU you have in that Notebook. Also, please let us know what O/S you are trying to install. If you don't know - tell us what make and model your Notebook is, and we may be able to crack the nut. Tony. . .
