No Sound with DVD playback
Leonard 11/15/2008 8:18:00 PM
I have several DVD's that all play fine with Windows Vista. When I play them
on my Vista Machine some play perfectly, but with others the video plays
perfectly but there is absolutely no sound. Even with the volume set to max
in Windows , Windows Media Player, or Windows Media Center.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks for your reply.

The DVDs are original Instructional DVDs purchased from various
organizations. I have not loaded any 3rd party codec packs that I am aware
of. I would only have them if they were included with Vista Home Premium or
Office 2007. Also, I have no problem playing web videos.

You might want to try installing the Vista Codec Pack to see if the problem goes away. -- locoeng

I found the Vista Sound Issue. Somehow the Sound Playback default in
Control Panel was mysteriously changed from Speaker to Digital Audio
Interface. I believe it happened during an update since I had never opened
the Sound Folder in Control Panel before the problem occurred.

Thanks for your assistance.
