System Crashes When I Try To Update Drive With Realtel Ac97

Okay here's my system information. Can someone please tell me why every time I try to manually and automatically reinstall or update my sound driver with realtek ac 97 at first it seems like everything is okay? Then my system crashes and my PC restarts with no change. I've been working at this for about two weeks now, and I'm pulling my hair out. I would be forever thankful!

Try going to Device Manager>Sounds, Video and Game Controllers>expand
and rt click your present ac 97 device and choose
uninstall. Restart and first thing hit F8. Select Safe Mode. Once XP
loads in safe mode try reinstalling the ac 97 software.
Make sure you have the correct Realtec Drivers.
