Software Download Error Message help offwego 12/27/2008 6:29:01 PM I have XP Pro SP3 I have tried to download some software (iTunes and Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package) but each time I ge the error message 'Windows cannot access the specified drive, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access this item.' My account has Administrator rights. Can anyone tell me what's going on or how I can fix this please?

Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. Remember to use IE as it's simpler for this website. If you prefer to use Firefox, you need to right-click the item no. 12 and choose "Save link as".

I tried what you said and as soon as I clicked on the No. 12 I got yhre same error message as I said before! I then copied the file you identified to my C drive and was given the option to 'Merge' which seemed like the only way ahead. I clicked this but unfortunatley the problem error message and inability to download has not gone away! ...is there anything else I can try?
