volume icon in task tray

Hi does any one know how to fix the volume icon on the task tray.
mine disappears every time i reboot.
I can go in to control panel and uncheck and click apply and re check and
apply the place volume icon in task tray each time and it will stay until
reboot.
what file if it was added to the do not run list by my fix it utilities
program do I need to turn back on .

Hard to say, but it definitely sounds like you have some other 3rd party
app in control of it. One of the problems with 3rd party stuff. Look
around is all I have to offer but someone else might know.
