Songs take ages to play and skip Cnstnc680 12/29/2008 4:55:00 PM Like VitalMiranda below, my WMP takes a good 30 seconds to play a song and also most of them skip. I had a Dell XPS with Widows XP before, and WMP was perfect. I recently bought another XPS with Vista and it's on this computer that I have the problems, to the extent that if I want to play music now I transfer songs into itunes which isn't half as good. Please help!!!

Please help!!! Skipping of tracks on Dell machines is common if they have the Sigmatel audio chipset (sound card) installed, because Dell ship them with defective audio driver software.
