If you've plugged it into the CD/DVD player, then you'll need to insert a music CD and play it to hear something. Try the headset on a friends computer. If you happen to have Server OS in your machine then you need to enable the service. By the way, does the sound come out when you are not using the headphone? it could be just a driver problem.
