Anyone know if this works in WLM? I've tried the obvious and don't seem to get audible new mail alerts.

It will if the settings are right, but they depend on a number of factors. You'd better post back saying which version of the app you're using (Help menu > About...), which OS, and what 'the obvious' might be. Then somebody will probably be able to help you. -- Noel

Thanks for the response. Here are the particulars.
OS = Vista (x86) Home Premium SP1 WLM Version = 2008, Build 14.0.5027.0908 Both accounts are pop3 In WLM Tools>Options>General>Play sound when new messages arrive is checked Mute = Off, Volume Up In Control Panel>Sound>Sounds> all default settings have a sound associated with them.
Any ideas?

Thanks - that's what you should have said first time. All you need now is a Vista expert who's running the beta build (<tiny ping gvdm />) to tell you what else to try. I use the production version 12 on XP, so I'm no use to you. (I did think that build 14.0 5027.0908 was called 'Version 2009', but I may be wrong.)
You do say, though, that 'all default settings have a sound associated' - does this mean that there is a sound called New Mail Notification, and this is the one you don't hear? -- Noel

My WLM 2009 14.0.8050.1202 seems absolutely mute as was the previous released version.

I have the same OS and WLM version as you. My New Mail sound works fine. In Control Panel>Sound>Sounds> which sound file is assigned to your New Mail Notification? The default is "Windows Notify.wav". Be sure to try the Test button.
