I partitioned my drive leaving 40gb for ultimate. Do I just install
vista and hope that a boot screen shows up. Or does installing ultimate
delete my home premium boot thing?

Hello Graycolor,
40 GB is not much for Ultimate. You should have at least 60 GB to avoid
possible low space issues.
As long as you install Ultimate on the other partition, then Home
Premium will still be there with Ultimate as an OS option to select at
boot. See this tutorial to make any adjustments to how long you have to
make a OS choice at boot. By default you have 30 seconds.

Hope this helps,

Just to clarify this won't delete vistas homes boot files like xp would
right? So I don't have to worry about restoring any boot files.
