Hi, I posted a question here a few days ago, and got an answer, but now I can't find it. I find this website kind of confusing. Anyway, I'll try again. I'm running XP Home SP2 in dual boot mode with ME. XP was installed on a new blank hard disk; ME is on the old hard disk. When I click on Index in Help & Support in XP, all I get is a small red X in a black box, no list. XP has been installed for only a couple of months, and I have not moved many programmes from ME. I have been uninstalling them one by one, to see if one was at fault, but no luck. I have run a virus scan a couple of times (AVG free) with no result. I would appreciate any help. -- kennym

Hi Kennym, Reinstalling Help and Support Center in Windows XP: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/rebuildhelp.htm Restore Help and Support Service http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/helpnsupport.reg
Reboot your machine after the execution of the reg file.
Restore your System if the above didn't help.

Hi nass, 1st suggestion: I got as far as the 2nd line in the command prompt, then got a message saying " The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. 2nd suggestion: After installing, got a message saying 'Windows cannot find 'helpctr.exe' I restored after both tries, so I'm back where I started. Maybe I should go back to the very first restore point--would a point be installed when XP is installed? -- kennym
