The practical questions are what you ought to do to maintain this state, ranging from software (e.g. a "firewall"" if you use the Internet) and hardware (hard drive maintenance, checking, defragmenting, etc.) Browse in the library for PC manuals written in an agreeable style. The Dummies series (IDG publishers) suits many everyday users.
