Try to find the latest drivers online for the two HP printers and the Veho slide scanner. If the problem started after you installed the Veho slide scanner then there may be some incompatibility between the older HP drivers and the scanner software?
Or you could remove the VRT scanner software and see if that fixes the problem.
I don't use HP printers and I'm not familiar with Veho. You troubleshoot problems like this by determining when they started and go from there.
