I am running Windows XP SP3. I also have been getting this annoying message everytime I open an application. I finally had to go into Device Manager and uninstall all the drives except for the C: drive. I uninstalled both DVD drives and all the indivdual card reader drives. I did not uninstall any of the controllers just the drives. Then I shut the computer OFF not just restart. After I turned the computer back on, it automatically discovered all the drives and apparently updated the registry with the correct information. No more Exception Processing Messages!
I hope this helps.
