DirectShow Custom URL Source Filter Fails To Load
Le Chaud Lapin <jaibuduvin[ at ]gmail.com> 12/6/2008 3:30:48 AM
Hi All,

I created a DirectShow Customer URL Source Filter to handle URL's
beginning with FUBAR://...but I cannot test it because GraphEdt.exe
will not load it when I do "Render URL."

I followed all the instructions at:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms787558(VS.85).aspx

except I have not specified any particular file extensions.

I get the following error from GraphEdt.exe:

---------------------------
GraphEdit
---------------------------
Could not construct a graph from this file.

- Have you installed all necessary filters?
- Note that the 'Render File' menu option cannot render *.GRF files.

(Return code: 0x800c000d)
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

The .DLL containing the custom source filter is never loaded.

What am I doing wrong?

I am on Vista.

Nevermind. Found it. I was creating a key for "Source Filter" instead
of a value.

Programming in COM is like swimming through a pool of syrup just to
enjoy a breakfast of pancakes.
