Assuming you did a "Clean Install" of XP. If so you will need to download and install the drivers for your Motherboard, Sound Card, Video Card, Etc.
Get these drivers from the PC manufacture's web site or from the manufacture of the motherboard, sound card, video card, etc.
Need to identify what cards are installed on your PC. Try Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html It does a good job of providing a wealth of information.
