1. Perhaps you used a different XP cd. Most ask/check for connectivity and
point you to the network wizard.
2. It never takes hours to install XP. If so, your problems are elsewhere.
As for the Recycle Bin being the only icon on the desktop - that is by
default and is native to XP.
3. Right click the Start Button/Properties/Customize - Show on Start Menu.
Use the drop box and select IE. And/or right click IE under Programs/Send
To - Desktop create shorcut and drag to QL bar.
And/or right click the Desktop/Properties/Desktop/Customize Desktop -
Internet Explorer.
