Error 0x800CCC0F
stock4 12/19/2008 5:04:01 AM
I am getting this error and can't get my emails to go out. Can someone please
tell me how I can fix it? Thank you!

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity.

Subject 'test'
Server: 'mail.bevcomm.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No

"Unexpected" termination is usually caused by interference from a
antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

I am using Trend Micro Antivirus and have both the "threats of incoming" and
"threats of outgoing" turned off. It is still not working.

Any other ideas?
Thanks!

You could do a trial uninstall of Trend Micro, just to see if it is the culprit.
I don't have any other suggestions.

Not sure what you mean by "shut it off".
Antivirus effects often don't cease until the program is fully uninstalled
and the computer is rebooted.

I have talked with Trend Micro and they have given me instructions on how to
do a complete uninstall. I have done that. I still can not send messages and
still get the same error - which tells me it is not my antivirus program....
thoughts?

Are you running any other third party security software, such as antispyware?

Also, there is a possibility that your mail account is corrupted, so delete it,
restart WLM, then recreate that account.
Warning: deleting a mail account in WLM also deletes all the folders and
messages under that account. If you want to save any, first move them
to a folder under Storage folders.
