USA to UK Webcam compatibility
dave 12/26/2008 3:59:00 PM
I bought the LifeCam VX-5000 in the USA and brought it to the UK. However, on
loading the CD, the installation will not move past the first window because
it will not recognize the internet connection ("setup cannot continue because
you are not connected to the internet or the server is unavailable. Connect
to the internet and then run setup again"), even though the internet is
connected.

Is there any way around this?

Thanks

Forget about the software on the CD as it is likely out of date anyways, try
downloading the latest driver version from the internet...

ok, the latest software still gave the same problem.

However, I figured out that it is the Microsoft NET framework that was
causing the issue - I uninstalled MS NET Framework (I'm not sure what the
heck it does anyway), and everything installed perfectly.

Thanks MS for not making your software compatible. Good job.

Too bad that nobody has absolutely any idea of what you are talking
about, dip.

Too bad for you that we all know who you really are, troll. Not Ken Blake.
