WSUS 2.0 on SBS 2003
Lisa 12/30/2008 8:12:31 PM
Hi,

I run SBS 2003 R2. I created a GPO for the domain to update with the SBS
server, however no computers are displayed in the WSUS. On the client
computer, I noticed the Windows Update Service is disabled. Where should I
check?

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Lisa

Firstly, you should definitely upgrade to WSUS 3.
You should enable the automatic updates service on all the workstations.

Hi Lisa:

WSUS 2.0, included with SBS 2003 R2 should just work. Please verify that
you are trying to make WSUS 2 work properly before we go into fixing that,
as if you are working with WSUS 3 we will waste a lot of time.

For WSUS 3.1, look here:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/wsus/default.aspx

paying special attention to item 3 on the left which leads you here:
