Files now Read Only Longinthetooth 12/12/2008 4:08:01 AM Many of my files have swtiched to become Read Only, for example all my photos! So I can't edit them, even simple edits like saving a photo as a small file to send? Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, ie, all the common stuff that I use everyday. It seemed to occur when I established and used a new user, ie, instead of using the Admin user, I created a ordinary user, so that my PC was at less risk, ie, a basic recommendation of MS.

Did you copy the files to your new user account? If yes and now they are read-only, you need to take ownership of them. You probably had made your files private in the other account.
