laptop HP unstable

I bought a new laptop HP dv7-1020us, I uninstalled some few trial programs, the anti-virus, etc, I installed Avast free, codec pack, all the stuff I usually use, but everytime mi laptop freezes, I can't shut down, I can't empty my recycle bin, it's strange normal use but it's hangs on everytime, not responding progrmas, or folders. I don't konw, I'm using most x64 compatilbe programs but maybe Avast is working wrong, a friend of mine bught the same laptop and with the same configuration. Everytime the systems crash or hangs on. any idea? -- boplelado

- I will try this fix, but at the botton of the MS page says - APPLIES TO - Windows Vista Enterprise 64-bit Edition - Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition - Windows Vista Business - Windows Vista Business 64-bit Edition - Windows Vista Enterprise - Windows Vista Ultimate not home premium 64-bit edition, anyway I'll give a try -- boplelado

Recover the PC back to Factory settings
Dont install anything!
Test your PC, if its now OK its what you are installing that is causing the
problems

Run the HP recovery to erase the drive and put it back to factory condition
and test without uninstalling or installing anything, if the problem remains
contact HP support and put your warranty to use, if it doesn't, something
you are doing is causing the issue.

yes, I will try the recovery option, I tried the sfc/scannow test, and evreything was ok, I read something about usb problems and yesterday when my pendrive was copying files a programs stop responding so, maybe there is another problem. -- boplelado
