Converting dvr-ms to wmv...receiving codecs error (0xC00D1B83) adeagle 12/4/2008 3:31:01 AM I am attempting to convert my recorded TV shows in Media Center into smaller files. I have downloaded the Media Encoder 9 (32 bit version I believe - for Windows XP). After working through the "Convert a File" session, I receive the error, "One of more codecs required to open this document could not be found (0xC00D1B83). Step 1, use Movie Maker in Windows Vista to create a .wmv file from the tv recording file. Step 2, use the .wmv file in media encoder to encode to the desired video.
