AD/Security Issue with SBS 2003 "Richard K" <rkokoski[ at ]foxdtechllc.com> 12/29/2008 9:43:48 PM I am setting up a Blackberry solution for a client and in addition to the list of account changes I need to make I also need to provide a "send as" permission to a new domain account (BPSAdmin) I have created. I do that under the security tab of the individual user account in the AD. (I go into AD Computers and Users, enable advanced features, go to user/properties/security tab and add the new domain user - BPSAdmin and check "send as" in the Allow column.) Everything seems to work fine but... after some time while trying to diagnose a problem I go back into that account and what I find is the BPSAdmin account is not even there any more in the list of security/user names. Something (group policy maybe) is doing some type of "cleanup" on the account and taking out the permission I just set so it won't "stick". What is going on here?

Re: AD/Security Issue with SBS 2003 "Richard K" <rkokoski[ at ]foxdtechllc.com> 12/30/2008 12:50:51 PM The OU is the SBSUsers OU where SBS put the account at creation so here is the scenerio User1: jsmith (created in the MyBusiness/Users/SBSUsers OU) User2: BPSAdmin (created in the MyBusiness/Users/SBSUser OU) Under jsmith account to go properties/security tab add in BPSAdmin to the Group and for that user check off "Send As" and "Receive As" in the Allow column What Happens..... after about 30 minutes I go back into the properties for jsmith and see that the BPSAdmin account I added in is now gone. Something is going through and "cleaning up" what I just did. I don't know what it is or why it is doing it but without it I have blackberry issues for sending email.
