I've been trying all morning to get the general Windows places bar to allow more than 5 entries. I've edited the registry following 3 different guides and have dl and tried 4 utilities to do the same. Even putting in DWORD SizeItem 0 as suggested didn't change icons to small in general Windows places bar. Yet toggling SizeItem 0 to 1 in Office one works, they go big or small according to number. Why wouldn't this work for WinXP?. It's stated clearly in one of the guides how to to do this for windows, but drat if I can't find the guide again now. The same ItemSize idea is used but it doesn't seem to affect the size at all.
Does anyone know how to get the windows icons to go smaller pls?
Thanks! :oD

The Windows Places Bar does not allow more than 5 entries. Where did you find that misleading bit of information?
Yes, I am aware you can have more than 5 in certain versions of Office but that has no bearing on Windows XP.

It was in one of the 10 or so guides I found but when I went back to look for it, I couldn't find it again.
Chalk it up to an error, I guess.
Thanks. Good to know one way or another. :oD
