Hi,
I have the following setup:
- W2k3 Server and a XP Professional Workstation both part of a domain. - Shared Printer on the server
When logged in locally on the workstation, I'd like to use the shared printer on the server without entering additional credentials (e.g. without using a domain account).
On the workstation I installed the printer using
rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /ga /n\\server\printershare / j"LanMan Print Services"
This way I added a per machine printer connection which should be independent of the user that logs in. But I get an access denied error when trying to get the properties page of the printer. And printing is also not possible.
I checked with the permissions of the printer share and added the Everyone group and Guest account but I still had no access. I even added the computer object of the workstation and gave it full access to the printer but nothing changed, I still had no access.
Does anybody see a way to solve this problem? Or isn't this "per machine printer connection" ment to work like this?
Regards, Stefan
