Vista Updates

One thing about Vista it is always updating and checking, always checking. But it seems like when I am in a hurry and want to check something on the computer myself, this is when it wants to do it! Does the computer have to be in hibernate for it to do automatically? Obviously I can't have it shut-down, because that is what is going on now. I have the timer set on 3am, I have figured that part out. Any suggestions? -- MSPRISSYSMOM

Hibernate will not work. Your best bet would be to set Vista to notify of
any updates, but not to download or install. You can then decide when to
download and install them when convenient to you.
