installed SP1, now PC crashes on boot
Xorro <guest[ at ]unknown-email.com> 12/18/2008 8:51:17 AM
Hi, I hope someone can help me. This is the fourth time I have tried to install SP1 on my PC (I'm running Home Premium). Previously I have got myself out of the mess by doing a system restore, but this isn't working for me this time. I created a restore point about 6 hours before starting the installation. I can boot in safe mode, but there seems to be restrictions on control panel so I can't uninstall SP1. Before installation I disabled Norton Anti Virus and checked my nVidia driver was up to date. I have also tried rolling back the nVidia driver to an older version and I still get the blue dump screen on boot up. I don't have a recovery disk as my PC came pre-loaded with Vista. Please can someone assist me as I don't know what to to try next - here are my dumps if this helps: 'Index of /temp/dumps' (http://www.xorro.co.uk/temp/dumps) Thanks -- Xorro

Look here for more info- 'Bug Check 0xC2: BAD_POOL_CALLER' (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms796120.aspx) After you have had a good look and tried what it says post back with your results. -- roy69
