service do not "stay" started
childofthe1980s 12/4/2008 3:01:01 PM
Hello:

I have successfully added a printer to Windows Vista Business. No errors.

But, I cannot get anything to print to the printer. The Spooler Service
keeps stopping, despite the fact that I can successfully start it.

I am logged in as the Domain Administrator since I added the computer to the
domain. But, I have the Spooler Service started with the Local System
account.

I don't know if it is related or not. But, the funny thing is that the time
of day will not "stay" either. I keep having to go into the Control Panel
and change the time to the correct time.

I have downloaded all of the updates. How do I get Vista's services to
"stick"?

The big thing is that I gotta get the printing working. I don't understand
why Vista won't let me print if it did not have a problem with my adding the
printer.

Again, the Spooler Service keep turning off. It is set to "Automatic".

if the service is set to manual it will stop and start as needed

Reading is a skill - a necessary one if you're going to be offering
advice.

Josh.
Is your clock set to get its time updated from the Internet? If not the slow
down is due to a weak battery on your MOBO.

What the hell are you replying to? The printer spooler is being
discussed here, not system time.

OH... and Josh isn't even the one having problems. He's trying to
help the person who is... but he has to learn to read a little better.

Apparently you did not his response closely.

lol, you guys are cracking me up. Yes I need to learn to read, missed the
whole automatic at the very end..

I have no idea what the slow down comment was about.

Ok, so we really need to know from 80'sChild is if the service is erroring
out. What does the system log say for this service? Any errors?
