The artist/track name is commonly embedded into shoutcast MP3 radio
streams - but WMP doesn't have a built in reader for that. I'm not
aware of a plugin to read that data and display it in the bottom bar
of media player, or the captions/subtitles area (though there *may*
be)

In general, the Orban plugin works well for shoutcast MP3 and AAC
radio streams, though it always displays the song info in the Now
Playing (visualisation) area so it's a tradeoff.

Have a try with this and see how you get on
http://www.orban.com/plugin/ (scroll below the red part of the page to
"GET IT HERE" link to the plugin installer)

Some of the SomaFM streams labelled WMP AACPlus are good tests as I
know they embed the song info into them : http://somafm.com/

That plugin also enables AAC audio playback, which is not present by
default in WMP - typically, AAC+ will get you the same audio quality
at 60% of the bitrate (file size) compared to MP3, and about 80%
compared to some WMA content.
